DESCRIPTION:World Photography Day is a celebration of photographic history – and a great excuse to share photos with the world. \nWorld Photography Day is celebrated every year\, on August 19. It is a globally recognised celebration of the photograph and its history. \nAugust 19 is the date that recognizes the invention of the Daguerrotype\, a process that was devised by the French artist and photographer\, Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre in 1837. His idea was then effectively sold to the French Academy of Sciences\, which subsequently gifted the process to the world on 19 August 1839. \nShare your love of photography on social media.  Post your favorite photo\, whether it’s your own or a favorite of someone else’s\, and acknowledge the photographer on your social media profiles. DESCRIPTION:Holga Week is an annual worldwide celebration of the humble Holga camera which runs for a week from October 1. The main event is organized by Mr. Holga and features an exciting competition\, sponsors\, podcast judges\, and prizes. \nPhotographers have from October 1-7 to shoot images on their analogue Holgas. From October 8th until November 8th\, entrants can submit up to three of their photos to the competition form on the Holga Week website. There are multiple categories that can be entered\, each with a specific theme of either Street\, Nature\, Portrait\, or Pinhole. No non-Holga\, digital Holga\, or digital camera with a Holga lens is allowed.
